  1. Doing this interview was a good experince for me,especially doing one on one of my family members.I mostly do interview on teachers and other student.I learned that i have to ask more question to get more iinformation about the question im asking.
I Interview my aunt liz beacues i felt like she would be a good person to interview and for me to found out me things about her.
My Struggles was getting more facts about the question i asked and the Strength was writing down alot of information than just little information.
What surpries me during the interview was finding out new events i havent heard of before,so its surpriesing to know something about someone you didnt know before.
My Advie to other students are to dont just ask little question, try to get as much information as possible.

  2. My expirences were good, i enjoyed to here my interviewers answer. For the interview i chose christina because she had told us this one story about her traveling and her one bad expirence with a guy and what he did. My strengths were thinking of questions i new that she would have to give in detail becasue they were straight to the point. My struggles were that i couldnt ask all the questions i wanted because of the time. What suprised me was finding about the places she has been to and how they really are. Advice that i would give to the next kids would be to ask questins that can tell a story, dont ask simple yes or know questions, be creative with your questions but not to personal.

  3. Doing this interview was a little difficult for me becuase of the simple fact that i had to choose my topic and who I would be interviewing was my question for a long period of time, and I didnt know where to start. I ended up going towards a specific subject that I wasnt clearly informed about but I had a point in my life where i had a second hand experience of an event such as pregancy. i chose my sister. Me and my sister are close, and now her baby {my nephew} are extremly close. My sister lived with my during her pregancy and i would see everyday the changes she had to go through but i never actually asked her how her experience was. She gave me advice as well as her oppinions. My advice to future students whos assigned this assignment is to choose a subject that will you have the most intrest in, wiether or not you know everything about the subject or absolutly no information about your subject what-so-ever becuase that way you wont be bored! :D

  4. Doing this interview was a good experience for me because I learned so much more about the interviewee that I didn't know and understand about them.
The person I chose was one of my best friends, Lynda. I chose Lynda because everytime I talk to her she has the very interesting, funny or weird stories to tell me. Her life is far from boring so I thought she'd be a great person to interview!
The struggles while doing this interview was asking follow-up questions. Even though Lynda is one of my best friends, shes shy especially with her personal life so she didn't open up that much.
Advice I'd give to future interviewers are pick a topic and interviewee that you're sure is open, interesting and of course FUN or else that interview will be dull and boring.

  5. Everything for me was very simple and not over the top or some very amazing story. at first i was not sue who to interview,i was considering my youth action coordinator from my program, he seem like a very interesting subject to interview, since i know he travels a lot to places like Morocco and has done a lot of very interesting stuff. since i was not sure of getting the interview since he was very busy i decided to do it bout my mom. it was very simple and i ask her about her life with Epilepsy and how it has affected her,i had to call my mother in her home country and had to also translated the words she spoke.it was very regular but had some difficulty to get answers since she was holding back. but we talked and i got my answers,it was fine.

  6. Doing great at an interview requires two things: confidence and a great attitude. In saying that, I believe that my interview went great. My experience during the interview was awesome and interesting, because I thought I knew my interviewee better than the interviewee knew himself but surprisingly I didn't. I found out a little bit more. For my interview, I chose my best friend named Odanis, because I wanted to ask him certain questions that I never thought of asking him and to see if I could get a little more information about him. My strengths during the interview was being comfortable talking and being patient. My struggles were trying to ask follow-up questions and I only had a certain amount of time for the interview so I had to rush it up. What surprised me in the interview was the answers I was getting but Im glad I had the interview because it grew our friendship as a bigger bond. Word of advice for the fellow interviewers, listen to Christina, she has good do's and dont's for you.

  7. This experience has been...unique. I've never really interviewed anyone so it was new to me and i found it kind of difficult. You never know what you're interviewee is going to say so you have to be prepared for everything. It has been kind of tough though i have to admit.
The person i chose to interview is my friend Robert Arias from my advisory. The reason i chose him is because we have a lot of good times together and were really close friends.
One of my stronger points in this whole project is making the interviewee comfortable. I believe if there is no sense of comfort, you can't really get much from the interview. I did have a weak point as-well though, and it was actually getting a story out of my interviewee. I think i need to come up with different questions in order to get deeper into my interviewee's memory. I'm Hoping i can interview my person at least one more time.
There weren't really any surprises in this project yet, i believe it's due to the fact that my questions weren't as strong as i would like them. Hopefully i can make new one's and find something really interesting out.
A couple of words for future interviewers, pick someone that you're really close to and that you feel comfortable with. That's about it, just have fun with you're project.

  8. I think this project is very interesting, just because we get to listen to the ups and downs of someones life. You might even learn things you never knew about this person so thats cool.I choose to interview one of my close friends Brenda Liz Manon.Believe or not i was suprised because she spoke about things she had never told me or brought up befor.I feel i didnt have no struggles with the interview because i was prepared and ready to ask some questions. For your interview to be a success you would have to, be ready with your questions, and ready to ask them and take notes. One extra advice i would give is to let the person speak, the more they speak the more imformation you can get from the person and thats good for your interview.

  9. Hello my name is Julia. I choose to interview my grandmother's younger sister Noelba. I would have interviewed my grandmother but she is in heaven. I choose to do an interview on my grandmother because when I was younger my father would tell me all these great stories about his mother Jenny. Who is my grandmother. Sometimes I wish I cold back in time to meet her. My grandmother gives me courage and strength by just looking at the one picture I have of her.

Some of the thing's that surprised me was how my grandmother grew up. she grew up in a traditional Christian home, was great at giving advice, never talked about anyone behind their backs. And cherished each moment with her kids.

  10. My experiences going through this process was that I found out a lot about my grandmother that I never knew. I found out how different her life was from mine and how times change. I chose my grandmother from my mother side to be interviewed. I chose her to see her story, I've done an interview on my other grandmother for another project so I wanted to see another side.My strength was that I knew a lot already about her and that she lives with me. My struggle was getting her into detail and getting her to spend time answering the questions for me.What surprised me was that when she was younger she lived in Manhattan. When you want to collect information for a great interview make sure the person will have time for you and not complain.

  11. i think that interviewing people is a great way to know them more than you normally do. my partner was Jose and i choose him because we never talked before and i didnt know him at all. my struggle with him was trying to get him to answer the questions because all he would say was "i dont know". this was frustrating because i want to get to know his REAL side and know his personal information, but its hard to get him to say anything. i thought maybe it was because he didnt feel comfortable around more than one person. my strenghts was asking questions. for example, if i asked him what are your hobbies, i would go into further questions such as why? or who motivated you to want to become this, etc. my advice to my classmates is to try to ask as many questions as possible that are also very detailed and personal so the person can think hard enough to answer the question honestly. make your partner comfortable and give them the time they need to answer the question. in addition, i suggest people get their partners alone not around many people because i dont think they would like other to know their business.

  13. The Process that i went threw while doing the project was really trying to pick questions that had her thinking and telling her story. I didn't choose to interview her because it was picked at random. Some of my strengths were to connect the question i asked to my life and get her thinking. One of my struggles were to think of follow up questions.
My advice is just to feel comfortable while interviewing the person- Alvaro N.

  14. my experience throughout this process was a bit bumpy. at first i wasn't really that into doing anything, i thought that the work we were doing was pointless. but when i got to interview my interviewee i enjoyed it. i was surprised to learn so many new things about him, i was also surprised to hear the way he answered the questions i didn't expect him to answer with so much enthusiasm. my strengths in this assignment were figuring out questions to ask him after hearing his first couple of answers i wanted to know more. if someone were to ask me questions on how to conduct a good interview i would tell them to listen carefully and ask many random questions because that way you learn more. -luisana martinez

  15. my experience in this project of Linguistics class was good and i feel that it was easy to pick questions for the person i was interviewing. I chose to interview kasime because he was the only person left and i didn/'t want to get up and interview someone else. The struggle was keeping kasime in track cause he starts doing other stuff. the strength is that we ask each other good simple questions. nothing surprise me at all. just to what you have to do and stay in track.

  16. My experience going through this process was kinda easy, the only hard part was coming up with questions. I chose Jeziel, i had no choice everyone else had a partner. My strength was that Jeziel was a friend of mine so it was easy talking to him, my struggle was coming up with questions to ask. The thing that surprised me was that he used big words that I didn't even know existed . Advice i would give is to ask questions the interviewee wouldn't expect.
